In Sync with the Earth

Right in the centre of Seoul, DRIFT ‘s exhibition with a series of works and unveils new artworks. The exhibition takes place at the contemporary art space Storage by Hyundai Card. The works that are magnificently installed are Fragile Future, Amplitude and Shylight.
In the series Materialism there are four new works added, which are debuting in Seoul. Materialism is the ongoing research project in which DRIFT deconstructs familiar objects of which they tend to only consider their function. By ‘de-produces’ the produced, DRIFT tries to visualise how much of the matter whiten these objects are extracted from the earth. For these new artworks a Barbie, a Gameboy, a game and a bag of South-Korean Shin-Ramyun noodles were deconstructed.
In the exhibition there is also a series called Making of, which provides an in-depth survey of DRIFT’s practice through an archive presentation to embrace the artist’s effort by presenting the process of their engineering thinking that leads to nature.
